Unfailing love

Transformational Community

-Most of the bible is written to a group.

-If you want to grow as a Christian then you need community

-Transformational community is vital

It is God’s design

-John 17:20-24

-I in you as you in me

-God existed in community prior to people.

-It unites us with God.

1. Uniting us with himself (vs 21)

2. Perfect us 2 Cor 12 (vs 23)

3. Showing Jesus to the world (vs 21 and 23)

Enemies of  transformational community

1.      Insecurity and fear- Can ruin transformational community

-Col 3:12

-“If people really knew the problems I have”

-Put on a heart of compassion

2. Being self focused

            -“I don’t really need these people”

            -Ephesians 5:20-21

            -Submit to one another

Creating transformational community

1.      Got to have time with God

-1 John 2:7 We need to understand God’s love

            2. Obedience 1 Peter 1:22

            -love one aother

            -Obey first, feelings come afterwards.

            -Joshua 3

            -Obey then the power comes afterwards.

Community

1.      Love others John 12:34-35

-try to love one another like Jesus did

            2. Deny yourself Phil 2:3-7

                        -Have the same mind, same love

                        -Regards on another as more important then yourself

            3. Be quick to acknowledge fault and apologize Matt 5:23-24

                        -“I’m sorry, I was wrong, please forgive me”

                        -Forgive each other Col 3:13

            4. Serve Mark 10:42-45

                        It’s challenging but worth it.
